Swalecliffe Free Church was established as a congregation in the 1960’s, with the main building being opened and dedicated in March 1966. Although the church is affiliated to the Baptist Union of Great Britain, and hence to the Kent Baptist Association, it has always welcomed a wide range of people who have made it their spiritual home.
Swalecliffe Free Church encourage and practise Believer’s Baptism by full immersion, but this is not a requirement for membership or full participation in church family life. From time to time other congregations use their baptistery for their own baptismal services.
They have developed a close and productive link with the local Anglican church of St. John and this includes a combined service on their premises, once a month. The church's also share activity information.
Swalecliffe Free Church is an active member of Churches Together in Whitstable.
Their Services are led by the members of their Ministry Team with a guest preacher every now and again.
